This is a theoretical uniform for an NSK Commissar, designed and created for the Retrogarde Reading Room by Christian Matzke. It is based in part on an amalgamation of various Laibach/NSK images from the last 30 years, ranging from Tomaz
Hostnik's 1980 stage uniform to promotional photos from Laibach's 2004 WAT tour.
The uniform itself is an East German officer's coat with jodhpurs and jackboots. The insignia were all custom stitched, including Malevich Cross collar tabs and a Wehrmacht chest eagle clutching the "cross and cog" of Laibach instead of the N.S.D.A.P. swastika.
There are two medals on the chest of the jacket. The medal on the right is from an Italian silversmith (an eBay purchase), while the one on the left was made using an existing U.S. Military pin (Army 33rd Division) and a spare machine cog.
The armband is a rare piece of actual Laibach merchandise from Slovenia.
The pouch is military surplus of unknown origin, screen printed with the NSK symbol in waterproof ink. It is just the right size to fit Alexei Monroe's Interrogation Machine.
The belt shown is a vintage WWI German belt, but should soon be replaced with a Laibach "cross and cog" belt.
